Michael Kerris, Esq.
Partner
Michael Kerris began his career in 1994 when he co-founded Axiom Communications, a telecommunications company. After its sale to World Link, a public company, Mr. Kerris has gone on to spend more than two decades in the investment management industry. During the first several years, Mr. Kerris worked as an analyst focused on emerging growth companies at the hedge funds Cohanzick Management and MH Capital/UBS, and served as the portfolio manager at Kerris Capital Management. Thereafter, Mr. Kerris spent several years co-leading The FrameWorks Group, an investment company focused on real estate.
Since 2011, Mr. Kerris has focused on developing proprietary systematic trading strategies across multiple asset classes, and automated trading algorithms. The potential of volatility as an asset class became apparent immediately. Mr. Kerris traded volatility for a number of years as he worked to systematize his signals. This multi-year effort resulted in the development of the Volatility Strategy. Since 2015, Mr. Kerris has managed client capital utilizing multiple strategies under the BrightView banner. In 2019, Mr. Kerris decided to forgo his work in other asset classes to focus exclusively on the larger opportunity with volatility.
Peter Labon
Partner
Peter Labon has spent over 25 years in the investment management industry. Mr. Labon has a background in Computer Engineering and started his career focusing on investing in Technology Media and Telecom (TMT) stocks using fundamental analysis.
Mr. Labon started his career in 1993 working as an investment analyst for The Capital Group/American Funds. In 2000, he moved to Bowman Capital, a hedge fund dedicated to investing in TMT public and private companies. Subsequently, Mr. Labon started a TMT long/short equity business managing more than a billion dollars, first for Citadel, and then for Pequot Capital, which included hiring a team of analysts, portfolio management, and marketing.
Since 2008, Mr. Labon has been focused on a broader investment scope across multiple assets classes. It was not long before Mr. Labon also discovered the huge potential of investing in the emerging volatility market, and he began pursuing strategies to capitalize on them. Mr. Labon teamed up with Michael Kerris and BrightView in 2019.
Mr. Labon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
Sheetal Kanade
Quantitative Programmer
Sheetal Kanade started her career as a deep learning researcher and switched to the field of quant consulting. Ms. Sheetal has worked with clients across the globe in designing, coding, testing, and validating trading systems. Ms. Sheetal specializes in volatility trading and derivatives. Ms. Sheetal joined BrightView in 2020.
Ms. Sheetal holds a bachelor of technology degree with a major in Engineering Physics from IIT Delhi, and has strong background in finance, coding and artificial intelligence.
